Position: Anticipated Custodial Position –2nd Shift
JOB STATUS: Twelve – month position-full time basis.
HOURS: 4:00 p.m.—12:30 a.m.; Monday through Friday with 30-minute duty-free lunch
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Between July 1 and August 1, 2025
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent (but may be waived by the board).
- Climb to height of 25 feet, balancing on ladders, scaffolding and catwalks.
- Lift up to 50 pounds, reach a distance of 31 inches and use fingers to pick, feel reach and grasp objects.
- Stoop repetitively and twist the body from a stationary position and reach.
- Work in outside environment where temperature may be between 0 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE POSITION (includes but not limited to):
- Clean/set-up classrooms or assigned area in an acceptable manner, including but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming rugs, cleaning tables, desks, straightening/moving furniture and dusting.
- Wet mops all bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets daily and replaces towels and tissue as needed.
- Cleans all drinking fountains daily, along with corridors, as assigned.
- Requests supplies and custodial equipment needed in the performance of custodial duties.
- Maintains, neatly, all custodial storage areas.
- Moves and sets up furniture or equipment as required for various activities as directed by the supervisor or principal.
- Performs minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs and assisting with more complex maintenance jobs in plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Changes filters in heaters, if properly trained.
- Handles the receiving, storage, and disbursement of supplies to teachers and other staff, as requested.
- Opening or closing of building, securing all doors and windows and regulating heat and lighting, as necessary (on or off).
- Basic grounds keeping duties such as fixing potholes, seeding and preparation of athletic fields. Cuts grass, trims hedges and shovels snow. Must be able to operate snowplows, spreader equipment, tractors, trucks (any type shift and size that does not require a special license).
- Paint, wash classroom windows, clean walls, class desks, and furniture, and shampoo carpets. Will also scrub, wax, and polish floors, using machines.
- Fire boilers and operate all heating equipment; removal of ash.
- Other duties as assigned. Including possible change in work hours if necessary.
NOTICE:
Any employee who applies for and receives employment in the new position and /or different job classification and/or moving from part-time to full-time shall be placed on a twelve-(12) month working day trial period.
All probationary custodians must have knowledge of the heating system. The District may return an employee to his/her former position any time during the trial period. Employees who fail to qualify within the prescribed trial period shall be permitted to return to their former classification without loss of their seniority. If the employee requests to be returned to his/her former job within the trial period, he/she shall be permitted to return without loss of seniority, provided he/she makes such request in writing and states the reasons for the return.

Positions: Part-Time Personal Care Paraprofessionals – 2 positions

Hours: 5.95 Hours per day, Monday through Friday with 30-minute duty free lunch
JOB SUMMARY: Serves as an aide to assist an individual student with various tasks they need to accomplish as part of their learning environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the student with academic problems as directed by teacher.
- Assists the student with any physical needs after they have entered the school building and until they leave, such as dressing and undressing, fire drills, eating, wheelchair mobility, etc.
- Reads to the student, listens to student read and participates in other skill building communication exercises.
- Works with the student to reinforce material already learned or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assists the student with related health service and toileting and accompany students on field trips. May need to lift students on regular basis.
- Assists the teacher in dealing with the individual student’s academic progress and related social problems as they relate to the instructional program.
- Communicates in writing to parents, only if requested by teacher.
- Will assist the child with physical exercises when requested by physical or occupational therapists.
- Performs other duties as requested by the teacher and/or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be 20 years of age or older. High school graduate, proficient in English and math. Balancing, stooping, twisting, and crouching in repetitive motions along with reaching with extended hands and arms in repetitive motion. Walking at moderate pace, able to lift fifty (50) pounds to a vertical height of thirty (30) inches. Required to use hands and fingers to pick, pinch, seize, hold and grasp to feel. Able to communicate verbally and to have no more than a forty (40) decibel hearing loss. Vision clarity requirements are far, near and mid-range (less than twenty (20) inches over and twenty (20) feet) along with depth perception, visual quality, ability to identify colors and field of vision. Work is internal office-type environment, some levels of noise, with ability to exert pounds of force. May be required to assist student with orthopedic devices. When needed, aide is responsible for making sure physically disabled student is safely removed from or placed in appropriate seat and transported to and from classroom. Must be aware of student medication and possible reactions and any allergies.
