Student Requirements

ALL STUDENTS:

• Attend at least one summer program. The summer program between students' eleventh and twelfth grade years is MANDATORY.

• Attend Saturday campus programs at the University Park campus using the transportation provided. Students who are unable to attend a Saturday program because of a mandatory school-related activity should contact the Upward Bound director in advance. Students who are absent because of illness or another unavoidable situation should have their parent/guardian contact the Upward Bound director before 5p.m. in the afternoon of the scheduled Saturday Program. PLEASE NOTE: Only one unexcused absence from a Saturday program is permitted each year.

• Attend coordinator meetings at your high school. Let your coordinator know in advance if you are unable to attend and why.

• Maintain grades C or better in your academic courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Languages). If you are receiving a D or lower, you will be expected to work with your school's UB coordinator to arrange for tutoring. Also, complete and return all tutoring forms before the stated deadlines.

• Notify the UB office at 1-800-475-4039 or e-mail a UB staff member if your address, telephone number, and/or e-mail address changes.
