HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST & PARADE

There are a few rules and regulations that you must follow in order to participate in this year's Halloween costume contest and parade.  If you do not adhere to these guidelines, you will not be permitted to participate in that morning's activities.  FOLLOW THESE COMPLETELY!!

USE GOOD JUDGMENT!!  If any costume does not meet the approval of the class advisor and/or the principal on the day of the parade (even if previously approved), you may not be permitted to participate in any portion of the parade.

**Please keep in mind that these rules are for the parade in the high school.  If your costume is too revealing or rather inappropriate for the elementary, you will be asked to cover up or adjust your costume, or to sit out entirely, for that portion of the parade.

General Rules

1. You are not permitted to wear any part of the costume to school.  You will be given time to change into your costume prior to judging and the parade.

2. All make-up used as part of a costume must be removed completely before returning to class.  Bring make-up removal cream for this purpose.

3. Absolutely NO food, candy, drinks, or any other inappropriate materials are to be distributed during the parade.  This is a school policy violation.

4. You are not permitted to use spray streamers.

5. If you make a mess, you will be required to clean it up.  Keep in mind that this is not an excuse to remain out of class and you may be charged with vandalism.

6. Make sure that your costumes/props are durable and can last for the entire parade.

7. If you are not planning on participating in the contest and parade, you will not be permitted to leave class when those who are participating are called to prepare.

Costumes

1. Props - No metal props (i.e. guns, knives, lawn tools, etc.) or anything that could be misconstrued as the actual object.  It is recommended that anything that falls into this category be stored in the principal's office for the day so that it will not be fond in a locker and deemed a violation of school policies.

2. Temporary hair coloring is permitted.  However, it must be washed out completely by the next school morning, or it will become a dress code violation.

4. Shirts with cutoff sleeves, A-shirts, and sleeveless shirts are permitted.  You are permitted to wear this shirt only for the Halloween parade.  You must change into it prior to the parade and out of it immediately after the parade or keep it covered prior to and after the parade.
