    Grading Policy

Homework will be accepted one day late for 1/2 of the value of the assignment.  Other assignments turned in late will lose 10% of the total value each day they are late.  For example, an essay worth 50 points would lose 5 points per day it is late.

Any cheating will result in a zero on the assignment.  This includes homework that is copied and any writing assignment that is  plagiarized from any source.

A student's grade will be figured on the basis of points earned out of points possible.  Quizzes, tests, speeches, and writing assignments count for 64% of a student's final  grade.  The other 16% of the non-Accelerated Reader grade is earned through participation, journals, homework and notebooks.

Please be aware; I do not curve grades.  If you earn a 50%, you get a 50%.  If you earn a 24%, you get a 24%.  There are no exceptions made.  If you get a 69.4%, you receive a 69%.
